Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 6 August 2026

1. Introduction

Firevision ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. For the purpose of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, Firevision is the Data Controller for your account information.

2. Our Roles: Data Controller and Data Processor

We are the Data Controller for your account information (name, email, phone number, payment details). We use this to manage your account and provide the Service to you.

You are the Data Controller, and we are the Data Processor, for the video feeds you stream to our Service. You control this data; we process it only on your behalf to detect fire and smoke.

3. Information We Process

3.1 As Data Controller (Your Account Data)

To create and manage your account, you must agree to provide us with the following personal information, which you are responsible for ensuring is correct:

  • Contact Data: Your email address and telephone number.
  • Technical Data: Your CCTV camera RTSP links. We process this data on the lawful basis of Performance of a Contract with you, as it is essential for the Service to function.
  • Evacuation App Data: For users of the Evacuation App, we also collect mobile location data and device notification permissions. This data is strictly collected to assist fire marshals and emergency services during an evacuation event or drill. Processing this data is necessary to provide the Evacuation App functionality and is done in accordance with UK GDPR.

3.2 As Data Processor (Your Video Data)

We process the video feeds you stream to us for the sole purpose of providing the fire and smoke detection Service. We do not use your video data for any other purpose, such as training our AI models, without your separate, explicit consent.

4. Data Security and Third Parties

We are committed to keeping your data secure. However, you acknowledge the following:

  • Third-Party Servers: Your video images are processed and temporarily stored on servers operated by reputable third-party cloud service providers. While we and our partners implement robust security measures, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot be held responsible for the absolute security of these images.
  • Evacuation App Security Platforms: In addition to our core video processing servers, the Evacuation App utilises secure MFA login processes for user authentication and secure and compliance-ready data storage for our backend database.
  • Data Sharing: Firevision will not sell, rent, or share your personal data or your camera links and images with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. We will maintain the security of your data as a primary interest.
  • Legal Authorities: We may be compelled to provide images or data to legal authorities if presented with a valid and binding legal request. We will assess such requests in accordance with UK law.

5. Data Retention and Deletion Policy

5.1 FireVision Web Application & CCTV Data

  • User Control: You can terminate the monitoring of any camera RTSP link at any time through your account settings.
  • Deletion Process: Upon your request to terminate a camera link or delete your account, we will endeavour to remove it from our active systems within 48 hours. However, due to system complexities and backup cycles, complete removal from all systems may take up to seven (7) days.
  • Downloaded Images: The Service may allow you to download video images to your personal computer or device. Once downloaded, Firevision has no responsibility or liability for these images, including any subsequent changes, updates, or their security.

5.2 FireVision Evacuation Mobile Application

Firevision enforces strict data minimization and transparent retention policies for all user account data, location data, and emergency incident logs collected via the FireVision Evacuation Mobile Application:

  • Location & GPS Data Retention: Real-time device location data (including background location accessed during an emergency evacuation or drill) is processed solely in real-time to determine building proximity, floor level, and evacuation progress. Location data is retained in active memory during an active incident and is automatically deleted or archived into anonymized duration metrics within 30 days of incident completion.
  • Evacuation Logs & Incident History: Incident and drill logs are automatically retained on the admin history dashboard for 30 days following completion for safety auditing and regulatory compliance. After 30 days, logs are automatically purged from system storage. System administrators are informed of this retention window and can export logs via CSV for long-term archival prior to automated purge.
  • User Account & Profile Data: Personal account information (name, email address, phone number, building assignment, and emergency contact details) is retained only for as long as the user's account remains active. Users can delete their account and all associated personal data at any time via the in-app "Delete Account & Data" feature or by contacting privacy@firevision.uk.
  • Push Notification Tokens: Expo push notification device tokens are retained for active user accounts to deliver critical building emergency alerts from administrators, and are permanently destroyed upon account deletion or device unregistration.
  • Deletion Process & Backup Purging: Upon account deletion or a manual deletion request sent to privacy@firevision.uk, all personal data is deleted from active database tables immediately and completely purged from system backups within seven (7) days.

6. Your Legal Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have rights including the right to access, correct, and request erasure of your personal data. To exercise these rights for your account data, please contact us. As the Data Controller for your video feeds, you are responsible for handling any such requests from individuals captured by your cameras.

7. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
