Welcome to FireVision! This section will walk you through the initial steps to get your account up and running.

2. Camera & Hub Setup

Connecting your cameras is the most crucial step. Here’s what you need to know.

  • Finding Your Camera's RTSP/HTTP Stream URL: Tips on how to locate the correct stream URL for various camera models.
  • Using the FireVision Hub: For a simpler setup, we recommend our Hub. Read the Hub Setup Guide for detailed instructions.
  • Configuration Time: Please note that after adding or editing a camera URL, it can take up to 7 days for the system to be fully configured, although we aim for 24 hours. You will receive an email once it's ready.
  • Troubleshooting Common Issues: What to do if your camera feed isn't appearing in the 'Live' view (e.g., checking firewalls, URL formats, and camera power).

  • What happens when a fire is detected? An explanation of the notification process (Email, SMS, Call).
  • Why didn't I receive a notification? Common reasons include incorrect contact information or disabled notification settings.
  • Is FireVision a replacement for my smoke alarm? No. As stated in our Terms, FireVision is a supplemental warning system and not a certified life-safety device.
